Habitat for Humanity Menominee River Building in Norway

Come and see what we Habitat is building in your community.

Working in partnership with the City of Norway, Habitat for Humanity Menominee River has recently purchased property on Central Street.  This area was selected by Habitat for Humanity because of the close proximity to downtown Norway and Strawberry Lake walking path and playground.   This property will be used to build single family homes.

Are you or someone you know interested in owning your own home? Habitat has three criteria—are you living in inadequate housing, do you have the ability to pay, and are you willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity Menominee River.  Many families in our community would never think it was possible to own their own home.  Come apply and we’ll help you through the application process.  Together we’ll discover if homeownership through Habitat is in your future.

“Homeownership improved my life in so many ways,” stated a recent Habitat homeowner, “Not only is my house energy efficient and my utility bills low, but my children feel secure and their grades have improved.”

The local Habitat affiliate has provided homeownership for twenty-seven families in our community, six in the Norway-Vulcan area.   Habitat has also coordinated the improvements of the Third Ward Park thought its Vision 2020 Program.  If you support our mission and have a desire to serve, we have openings on our Board of Directors.  Habitat is in need of representation from the Norway-Vulcan community.  If you are interest or know of someone who may be interested, please contact the Habitat office.

The Menominee River Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that changes lives by offering affordable housing to families.  With the help of volunteers and donors, Habitat partners with families to build homes.  The homes are sold at no profit to partner families.  The families who purchase these homes are further educated on home maintenance and financial management. If you would like more information about Habitat or would like to volunteer, call the local office at 906-779-5377 or visit us on the web at www.habitatmr.com
