For making a difference in the community!
The affiliate is excited to be serving five families in 2011. One of these homes will be in Iron County which continues the expansion of our services beyond Dickinson County. In addition to providing homeownership for families, the affiliate will be continuing to support community improvement through its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. The effort focuses on major and minor home repair, home painting, sidewalk replacement, and park improvement.
Habitat's Mission
Habitat for Humanity works will all walks of life to improve communities with people in need by building and renovating homes so that there are decent homes in decent communities in which every person can abitat for Humanity Menominee River (HFHMR) works in partnership with God and people of all walks of life to grow into all that God intends.
2010 Affiliate of the Year
Habitat for Humanity Menominee River was selected as the 2010 affiliate of the year in Michigan. There are 77 affiliates in Michigan. Thank you to everyone who has supported Habitat. Affiliate of the years does not come with one house or one build day but from the countless hours from the many volunteers and donors in our community. The Menominee River Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that changes lives by offering affordable housing to families. With the help of volunteers and donors, Habitat partners with families to build homes. The families who purchase these homes are further educated on home maintenance and financial management.
